When you think about preparing for your cruise vacation you probably picture packing a swimsuit and sandals. However there are a few things that are often overlooked that can make a huge difference. If your trip takes you outside the country ensure your passport is valid. As soon as you receive your cruise documents make your reservations for on-board amenities and shore excursions. Assess your available credit and make sure you have plenty of cash. These small steps can greatly enhance your cruise vacation enjoyment.

Depending on where your cruise vacation takes you it is a good idea to get or renew your passport. Recent changes in US law mean that a passport is required to reenter the States from Mexico and the Caribbean. If you already have a passport check the expiration date and make sure it has blank pages. You don’t want to be on the high seas when you realize that it expired a month before or worse during your trip.

If you don’t have one get one as soon as possible and pay the extra money to expedite the process. Once you receive your new passport make several copies of it. If it is lost or stolen you will be very glad you took this step. Give copies to your emergency contact back in the states and put one in your suitcase.

How You Can Reduce the Risk of Lost Luggage During Flight

Whether you take air flights for business, or holidays and vacations, you have probably lost luggage or know of a person that has. Here are some travel tips that may help you prevent this happening.

You should attach two or three tags with your name, home address, and phone number to the handle and zipper-pulls of each bag that you are checking. There is less of a chance that all of your tags will get torn off in transit. Make sure that you have removed any old airline tracking tags that are still attached to your luggage as they could confuse the baggage handlers.

Be sure to place the same contact information, including a copy of your itinerary and your destination address inside each piece luggage. That way, if they do get lost and are found in time, they could be forwarded to your hotel.

Pick luggage with preferably a bright or odd color that will stand out among all black and brown bags. Know which brand name of the luggage that you are using and attach a small colorful scarf or ribbon to the handle to make identification easier. Stick decals or a contrasting colored tape to each side of the bags so they are easier to find as it goes around the carousel. Remember these details, or better still, take a digital photo of your luggage just before you go and bring it with you. This will help the lost luggage staff at the airport locate your bags if they get lost in transit and turn up at their office. It will also help if you do have to make a claim.

Its creation was completed on March 23, 1967. The park is famous for its mountainous landscape, making it ideal for skiing, hiking, and, of course, mountain climbing. For those with special interest in wildlife, some seventy different species of animals can be observed roaming the park freely.

Dealing with Motion Sickness When you Travel for the Holidays

If you or someone in your family suffers from motion sickness then you have an extra element to prepare for when you think about traveling for the holidays. Not everyone experiences motion sickness the same and it may not happen every time. For example some people get motion sick on a cruise ship but not while they are in a car. Others may get queasy when they are on a train but not on an airplane.

Common symptoms of motion sickness include sweating, nausea, dizziness, saliva in the mouth that is more than usual, and vomiting. Most people know when it is coming on and do all they can to minimize the effects. Many women many suffer from motion sickness when they are pregnant due to the changes taken place in their body. Children are also quite susceptible to it as well.

There are plenty of things you can do on your own to help prevent the effects of motion sickness from occurring. Many adults find they don’t suffer from motion sickness if they drive the car. This is because the sensors in their brain view the scenery flashing by differently when they are in the driver’s seat. This is why so many get sick when they travel by train. If you are susceptible to motion sickness as a passenger in a car avoid a window seat on a train. You also want to avoid those seats that face backwards.
